2002 Morey St Denis Truchot Les Blanchards

I do not know which is worse - the dirty water red color or the matching sweaty sox rinse water note. After one hour I did note cherries in the nose - unfortunately they seemed preserved in formaldehyde - much like the taste. I will try another bottle but I am not hopeful....60 points.

2001 Tardieu Laurent Hermitage Blanc

I do not drink many white wines. If I did I would drink more wines like the Tardieu Laurent Hermitage. The wine exhibits complexity of minerality, melon and safron. This is not a formulaic buttery, oakey, smokey chardonnay - and that is why I love it. The finish is especially delicious with Maryland Lump Crab cakes, Beet and Asparagus salad with pistachios, and a pink peppercorn bouillabaise. 92 points - worthy of a fantastic sister-in-law dinner.

2002 Dominique Laurent Les Beaumonts Vosne-Romane

The Beaumonts is like the title beautiful mountains. The color is light radiant red, the nose is sweet and the flavor is soft cherries - really soft. The finish is balanced. Perfect wine with "filete de pargo con espinaca" and brazino and whole wheat cous-cous and avocados drenched in virgin olive oil with lavender, curry and pink peppercorns. 92 points.

2002 Nuits St. Georges - Chevillon Bousselots

The 2002 Bousselots is drinking beautifully. Light bright red color, strawberry rosemary nose, and a sweet fruit flavour with slightly acidic (lychee?) finish would tempt one to believe this is an oregon pinot noir. It is not. The wine evolves elegantly and is well worthy of 92 points.

2000 Roc de Cambes

The Roc de Cambes is tired. Whilst the eggplant color and nose are interesting, with a dark tannin fruit finish that is medium in length, the taste is tired, alcoholic, and syruppy - Like this rating - 80 to 85 points.

2000 Chateau La Lagune

The 2000 La Lagune is a flavourful big muscular wine that evokes italy and syrah more than bordeaux. Black red color heavy black raspberries, and a long but balanced finish are tasting brilliantly with a veal saltimboca. 90 points.

2001 La Spinetta Pin

This one is a brilliant wine. The flavors, finish, and color are bold right out of the gate. The nose is plums on steroids, the taste is unctuously sweet black and red fruits, and the finish is velvety, satiny, and long. Love this wine - 95 points.
